Storming home.

17 Aug

Between Budapest and Jimbolia, this was our drive. I love storms, so I had to take out my camera and film beside the window. When lightning would strike, I could easily distinguish the exact shade of green in the fields. It was passed midnight, but for split seconds I could see as if it were pure daylight. I can’t predict when lightning will strike, therefore these videos only capture a bit of what it was like… although they can never compare to the real thing.

By the way, the music… not my idea… my sister was fiddling with her phone, she didn’t know I was filming. 🙂

Sand in my shoes.

14 Aug

I was born in a small town called Bridgend, Wales. When I was one year old, my family moved to Porthcawl, which is by the sea, or to be more exact, by the Bristol Channel. These are the beaches I used to play on as a small child, until the age of six. It has been thirteen years since I walked on this sand… but the moment I took my shoes off, it felt like home again.

It has been an emotional two week holiday, especially for my parents. They can remember so much more about the time we spent in Wales, more than I or any of my siblings can. But still, a part of me will forever remain linked to this country and to its culture.

I like to think that no matter where my feet take me, I’ll always have sand in my shoes.
